SLU-PP-332 Oral (Tablets / Capsules)
SLU-PP-332 is a per os active agonist of ERRα/ERRγ (estrogen-related receptors) that molecularly mimics the benefits of exercise ('exercise mimetic'). Preclinical data show an increase in mitochondrial biogenesis, fatty acid oxidation, and muscle endurance without physical activity.

How It Works
SLU-PP-332 activates ERRα/ERRγ receptors → increases PGC-1α → mitochondrial biogenesis + fatty acid β-oxidation. In skeletal muscle, it increases the ratio of oxidative to glycolytic fibers (conversion of Type IIb → Type I), improving endurance. Simultaneously, it increases energy expenditure in adipose tissue.
Quick Start
- Available forms: 250 mcg capsule · 1,000 mcg (1 mg) capsule · 20 mg tablet.
- Typical research dose: 5–10 mg daily (preclinical extrapolation).
- Time of administration: Morning, with or without food.
- Research stage: Preclinical — no human data available.
Research Dosing — SLU-PP-332 Per Os (Preclinical)
Route: Oral (per os) | Frequency: Once daily
| Week | Dose | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–2 (5 mg/day) | 5 mg (5,000 mcg) | 20× 250mcg capsules **or** 5× 1mg capsules **or** ¼ of a 20mg tablet |
| Weeks 3–8 (10 mg/day) | 10 mg (10,000 mcg) | 40× 250mcg capsules **or** 10× 1mg capsules **or** ½ of a 20mg tablet |
| Weeks 3–8 (20 mg/day) | 20 mg (20,000 mcg) | 20× 1mg capsules **or** 1 20mg tablet |
Dosing is extrapolated exclusively from animal models (mice: ~50 mg/kg IP → allometric scaling). There is no clinical documentation for human dosing. The 20mg tablets can be split for lower doses.

Protocol Overview
- SLU-PP-332 was developed at Saint Louis University (Bahouth lab) as an 'exercise mimetic'—a substance that activates the molecular pathways of exercise without movement.
- It targets the ERRα and ERRγ receptors, which regulate mitochondrial biogenesis, β-oxidation of fatty acids, and skeletal muscle metabolism.
- In mice on a high-fat diet, administration of SLU-PP-332 reduced body fat without changes in diet or movement (Kim et al., 2023).
- It is available in capsules (250 mcg, 1 mg) and tablets (20 mg)—the choice depends on the desired dose and practicality.
Dosing Protocol
- Select the dosage form based on the target daily dose.
- For 5–10 mg: 1mg capsules (more practical) or ¼–½ of a 20mg tablet.
- For 20 mg: 1 20mg tablet daily.
- Take preferably in the morning, with or without food.
- The cycle is experimental — 4–8 weeks for evaluation.
- ⚠️ For research use only.
- Break between cycles: A 4-week washout period is recommended due to the unknown desensitization profile.
Washout & Cycle Restart
When can I restart?
A 4-week washout period is recommended due to the unknown desensitization profile.
Minimum wait period: 4 weeks
Storage Instructions
- Store at room temperature (15–25 °C).
- Keep away from moisture, heat, and light.
Important Notes
- ⚠️ Preclinical substance only — no human clinical trials exist.
- The 250 mcg capsules are only suitable for very low doses (<1 mg) — impractical for typical use.
- The 20 mg tablets can be split, but dose uniformity is not guaranteed.
- Per os bioavailability is acceptable in mice, but has not been confirmed in humans.
- It is not a substitute for regular physical activity.
Potential Benefits & Side Effects
Potential Benefits:
- Increased mitochondrial biogenesis (preclinical)
- Reduced body fat without dietary changes (mice)
- Increased muscle endurance (muscle fiber conversion)
- Improved fatty acid oxidation
- Per os administration — ease of use
Potential Side Effects:
- Unknown in humans (preclinical data only)
- Potential gastrointestinal discomfort
- Theoretical risk: cardiac hypertrophy (ERR agonism in myocardium)
⚠️ Serious Warnings & Long-Term Risks
The following warnings are based on published literature, FDA labels, and post-marketing surveillance. They do not constitute medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional.
ERRα agonist — unclear long-term safety
As an ERRα agonist, mimics exercise metabolically. No human studies. Theoretical risk of metabolic dysregulation with chronic use.
