    How It Works

Survodutide acts as a dual agonist: GLP-1 action reduces appetite and slows gastric emptying, while Glucagon action increases thermogenesis, lipolysis, and energy expenditure. This combination has been associated with greater weight loss (12.5–14.9% at 46 weeks in Phase 2) compared to GLP-1 mono-agonists. Dose-dependent weight loss is described in available clinical data.

    Quick Start

    • Reconstitution: Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water → 5 mg/mL.
    • Weekly Range: 0.6–6.0 mg once weekly (10–12 week progressive titration).
    • Storage: Lyophilized ≤−20 °C; reconstituted 2–8 °C, protect from light.

    Reconstitution Steps

    1. Wipe vial stoppers with an alcohol pad.
    2. Draw 2.0 mL of bacteriostatic water.
    3. Inject slowly down the side of the vial; avoid foaming.
    4. Gently swirl until fully dissolved (do not shake vigorously).
    5. Note the date; refrigerate (2–8 °C), protecting from light.

    Protocol Overview

    • Objective: Metabolic improvement and weight management via dual GLP-1/Glucagon agonism.
    • Schedule: Weekly subcutaneous injections for 12–16+ weeks.
    • Storage: Lyophilized frozen; reconstituted refrigerated; protect from light.

    Dosing Protocol

    • Initiation: 0.6 mg weekly.
    • Escalation: Increase by +0.6 mg every 2 weeks as tolerated.
    • Target: 4.8–6.0 mg weekly by week 11–13.
    • Frequency: Once weekly (subcutaneously).
    • Cycle: 12–16 weeks minimum; Phase 3 clinical trials: 48–72 weeks.
    • Break between cycles: Post-cycle, a pause of 4–8 weeks is recommended. Survodutide (a GLP-1/glucagon dual agonist) requires sufficient clearance before a new cycle.

    Washout & Cycle Restart

    When can I restart?

Post-cycle, a pause of 4–8 weeks is recommended. Survodutide (a GLP-1/glucagon dual agonist) requires sufficient clearance before a new cycle.

    Minimum wait period: 4 weeks

    Storage Instructions

    • Lyophilized: ≤−20 °C in dry, dark conditions.
    • Reconstituted: 2–8 °C; protect from light; avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
    • Allow vials to reach room temperature before opening.

    Important Notes

    • Survodutide is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials.
    • Glucagon agonism may increase glucose—monitor.
    • Contraindicated in MTC or MEN2 family history.
    • Progressive titration is critical for minimizing GI side effects.

    Potential Benefits & Side Effects

    Potential Benefits:

    • Clinical weight loss data (12.5–14.9% in Phase 2 studies).
    • Increased energy expenditure via Glucagon agonism.
    • Reduction in visceral fat.
    • Improvement in lipid profile.
    • Potential hepatoprotective action (NASH/MAFLD).
    • MASH (2026): Phase 2 data reported up to 83% MASH resolution without worsening of fibrosis at 4.8–6.0 mg weekly doses.
    • New Phase 3 (2025–2026): ~19% weight loss at 46 weeks in international cohort analyses.

    Potential Side Effects:

    • Nausea (more frequent due to Glucagon action).
    • Vomiting.
    • Diarrhea.
    • Decreased appetite.
    • Transient increase in heart rate.
