MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) (5mg)
Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) is a splice variant of IGF-1 that is locally expressed in muscle tissue after mechanical stimulus (exercise/injury). It activates muscle satellite cells, promoting muscle hypertrophy and repair. Local intramuscular injections 2–3 times weekly.

How It Works
MGF is a splice variant of IGF-1 produced locally after mechanical stress. It activates muscle satellite cells—the stem cells for muscle regeneration. These proliferate, fuse with existing muscle fibers, and donate nuclei, increasing the potential for protein synthesis and muscle hypertrophy.
Quick Start
- Reconstitution: Add 2.5 mL of 0.6% acetic acid → 2.0 mg/mL. ⚠️ Acetic acid only — similar structure to IGF-1, does not dissolve properly in BAC water.
- Typical Dose: 200–400 mcg per injection, 2–3 times/wk.
- Storage: Lyophilized: −20 °C· reconstituted: 2–8 °C, use within 7–10 days.
Typical Protocol (2.5 mL = 2.0 mg/mL)
Route: Intramuscular (locally into the target muscle) | Frequency: 2–3 times weekly
| Week | Dose | Units (per injection) |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–2 | 200 mcg | 10 Units (0.10 mL) |
| Weeks 3–4 | 300 mcg | 15 Units (0.15 mL) |
| Weeks 5+ | 400 mcg | 20 Units (0.20 mL) |
Studies report intramuscular administration in close temporal proximity to exercise, localized to the muscle under study. MGF has a very short half-life (~minutes) — the PEGylated form (PEG-MGF) lasts longer.

Reconstitution Steps
- ⚠️ Use 0.6% acetic acid exclusively — NOT bacteriostatic water. MGF has a hydrophobic structure similar to IGF-1.
- Withdraw 2.5 mL of 0.6% acetic acid.
- Slowly inject against the side wall; avoid foaming.
- Gently swirl until fully dissolved.
- Refrigerate at 2–8 °C; use within 7–10 days (sensitive peptide).
Protocol Overview
- Goal: Local muscle growth and repair post-workout/injury.
- Schedule: 2–3 IM injections weekly for 4–8 weeks.
Dosing Protocol
- Start: 200 mcg × 2/wk.
- Titration: 300–400 mcg if well-tolerated.
- Timing: Immediately post-workout into the target muscle.
- Cycle: 4–8 weeks.
- Break between cycles: After the cycle (4–8 weeks), a 4–6 week washout period is recommended. The break prevents desensitization of IGF-1 receptors.
Washout & Cycle Restart
When can I restart?
After the cycle (4–8 weeks), a 4–6 week washout period is recommended. The break prevents desensitization of IGF-1 receptors.
Minimum wait period: 4 weeks
Storage Instructions
- Lyophilized: −20 °C.
- Reconstituted: 2–8 °C; use within 7–10 days (sensitive peptide).
- Do not freeze the reconstituted solution.
Important Notes
- Standard MGF has a very short half-life (~minutes).
- Inject IM locally into the target muscle immediately after exercise.
- The PEG-MGF form has an extended duration of action (~hours).
Potential Benefits & Side Effects
Potential Benefits:
- Muscle Hypertrophy: Activation of satellite cells.
- Repair: Faster regeneration after injury.
- Local Action: Targeted growth in the injected muscle.
- Synergy: Can be combined with IGF-1 LR3 or GH peptides.
Potential Side Effects:
- Generally very well-tolerated.
- Mild injection site irritation.
- Theoretical concern for hypoglycemia at very high doses.
⚠️ Serious Warnings & Long-Term Risks
The following warnings are based on published literature, FDA labels, and post-marketing surveillance. They do not constitute medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional.
Mechano Growth Factor — potential oncogenesis
MGF (IGF-1 Ec splice variant) promotes muscle hypertrophy and cell proliferation. Theoretical concern for enhancing neoplasms — especially in tissues with active mitosis.
