Cartalax (20mg)
Cartalax is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator (Ala-Glu-Asp; 'AED' sequence) developed by Prof. Vladimir Khavinson. Preclinical studies indicate it may regulate fibroblast proliferation markers (Ki-67), reduce pro-apoptotic signaling (p53, caspase-3), and support extracellular matrix homeostasis. This protocol outlines a once-daily subcutaneous approach.

How It Works
Cartalax (Ala-Glu-Asp) belongs to the Khavinson bioregulatory peptides—ultra-short peptides that interact with DNA and modulate gene expression at nanomolar concentrations. The sequence corresponds to a motif in the collagen type XI α-1 chain. In fibroblast and chondrocyte models, Cartalax upregulates Ki-67 (a proliferation marker), increases SIRT-1/SIRT-6 expression, reduces p53 and caspase-3 activity, and inhibits MMP-9 synthesis.
Quick Start
- Reconstitution: Add 3.0 mL of bacteriostatic water → ~6.67 mg/mL concentration.
- Example Daily Range: 2,000–5,000 mcg once daily (gradual titration).
- Storage: Lyophilized: refrigerate 2–8 °C or freeze −20 °C; after reconstitution, refrigerate 2–8 °C; avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Standard / Gradual Titration (3 mL = ~6.67 mg/mL)
Route: Subcutaneous | Frequency: Once daily
| Week | Dose | Units (per injection) |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–2 | 2,000 mcg (2.0 mg) | 30 Units (0.30 mL) |
| Weeks 3–4 | 3,000 mcg (3.0 mg) | 45 Units (0.45 mL) |
| Weeks 5–8 | 4,000 mcg (4.0 mg) | 60 Units (0.60 mL) |
| Weeks 9–12 | 5,000 mcg (5.0 mg) | 75 Units (0.75 mL) |
Studies report administration once daily subcutaneously. Research Data Note: Published human SC Cartalax dosing is limited; this program is based on preclinical studies.

Reconstitution Steps
- Draw 3.0 mL of bacteriostatic water.
- Inject slowly down the side of the vial; avoid foaming.
- Gently swirl/rotate until fully dissolved.
- Date and refrigerate at 2–8 °C, protected from light.
Protocol Overview
- Objective: Support connective tissue homeostasis and fibroblast function based on preclinical bioregulator research.
- Schedule: Daily subcutaneous injections for 8–12 weeks (extendable to 16).
- Storage: Lyophilized refrigerated/frozen; reconstituted refrigerated.
Dosing Protocol
- Initiation: 2,000 mcg daily; increase by ~1,000 mcg every 2 weeks.
- Target: 4,000–5,000 mcg daily by weeks 5–12.
- Frequency: Once daily (subcutaneously).
- Cycle Duration: 8–12 weeks; optionally extendable to 16.
- Timing: Any consistent time; rotate sites.
- Break between cycles: After the cycle (10–20 days), a 3–6 month washout period is recommended. Khavinson bioregulatory peptides have a prolonged effect—typically 2–3 cycles/year are performed.
Washout & Cycle Restart
When can I restart?
After the cycle (10–20 days), a 3–6 month washout period is recommended. Khavinson bioregulatory peptides have a prolonged effect—typically 2–3 cycles/year are performed.
Minimum wait period: 12 weeks

- Limitations: Large-scale human RCTs are lacking.
Potential Side Effects:
- Mild injection site reactions (redness, tenderness).
- Transient gastrointestinal discomfort (rare).
- Temporary change in joint stiffness initially.
- Limited long-term human data.
