How It Works
AOD-9604 mimics the lipolytic action of growth hormone without activating the IGF-1 receptor. It stimulates beta-oxidation of fatty acids and inhibits lipogenesis in animal models.
Quick Start
- Reconstitution: Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water → 5.0 mg/mL concentration.
- Typical Dose: 300–600 mcg daily.
- Storage: −20 °C (powder); 2–8 °C (reconstituted).
Typical Approach (2 mL = 5.0 mg/mL)
Route: Subcutaneously | Frequency: Once daily
| Week | Dose | Units (per injection) |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–2 | 300 mcg | 6 Units (0.06 mL) |
| Weeks 3+ | 500 mcg | 10 Units (0.10 mL) |
Once daily, preferably in the morning while fasted.

Potential Side Effects:
- Injection site reactions (10–30%): redness, swelling.
- Headache (1–10%, comparable to placebo).
- Nausea (1–10%, rare).
- Fatigue or flu-like symptoms (rare).

⚠️ Serious Warnings & Long-Term Risks
The following warnings are based on published literature, FDA labels, and post-marketing surveillance. They do not constitute medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional.
Failed clinical trials — questionable efficacy
The Phase III obesity trial did not meet primary endpoint. Long-term safety as injectable has not been documented (GRAS only for oral use).
